Tom needs a visa for this trip to Thailand.
We are in Thailand for more than 30 days, and we don't know yet whether we will go to one of
the neighboring countries for a few days.
And that is why a Visa Extension is not enough, which applies to a maximum stay of 30 days.
On Monday, Tom sends an email to sister-in-law Wanna, where we are staying when we are in
Bangkok, asking if she would like to send an invitation.
This invitation is one of the documents required for a visa application.
Wanna responds on Thursday with the requested invitation.
And Tom applies for an e-visum on Thursday.
Compared to previous times, fewer documents are needed.
For example, the selfie that the visa applicant must take of himself with his passport in
his hand has disappeared.
On Saturday there is an email with the visa in the inbox.
That's very fast.
